What it is
Kit (formerly ConvertKit) is email marketing built for creators. It offers subscriber tagging, visual automations, landing pages and selling digital products and paid newsletters.
Pricing
Kit has a free tier. Paid plans are priced by subscriber count; see kit.com/pricing. Kit's own comparison page lists a 0.6% transaction fee on sales.
Strengths
- Tag-based segmentation and automations for sending the right email to the right reader
- Built-in commerce for digital products and paid newsletters
- A Sponsor Network for larger lists (Kit states 10,000+ subscribers, weekly sending and a 23.5% fee)
Weaknesses
- If ad revenue is your main model, beehiiv's ad network is open to smaller lists (see our comparison).
- It isn't an all-in-one: there's no full course platform or sales funnel builder. If you want those under one login, see Systeme.io vs Kit.
Verdict
A strong default for solopreneurs who sell services, courses or products and want email to do the selling. For other options, see best email marketing for solopreneurs.
